Griffin Instructional Basketball League – Register Now!
Griffin, GA – Young athletes ( boys and girls ages 8-13) can develop their basketball skills in the new Griffin Instructional Basketball League this spring! Held at Griffin High School, this six-week program includes skill training and scrimmage games.
League Details:
Registration Details: Open April 7 - Close April 20
Season Dates: April 23 – May 24 (Wednesdays, 6, 7 or 8 PM and end of season Saturday)
Format: 3-on-3 or 5-on-5 (30 min training + 30 min scrimmage/games)
Location: Griffin High School
Divisions: Both a Boys and Girls - Ages 8-9, 10-11, 12-13
Cost: $75 (includes reversible mesh jersey)
Players will be evaluated and placed on teams. High school athletes will assist with mentoring and training.
Limited spots.
6 weeks with one hour sessions per week.
Schedule: Each session includes a 30-minute practice followed by a 30-minute game.
Instructional Sessions:
- Focus on fundamental skills and teamwork through engaging drills.
- Ensure equal participation and provide positive feedback. 30 minutes
Instructional Games:
- Use small-sized teams to enhance participation in full court or half court games.
- Games final 30 minutes - divided into two 10-minute halves.
- 2 minutes warm ups & 3 minute half times.
- Each player is guaranteed 10 minutes total playing time.
- Emphasize skill development over winning.
- Promote good sportsmanship and respectful behavior.
- Weekly players of the week picked by Instructional Coaches.
-Player Conduct:
- Respect for all participants is essential.
- Encourage effort and team spirit.
Coach Guidelines:
- Coaches will be provided with weekly guidelines for practices.
Parental Involvement:
- Parents are encouraged to support their children positively and refrain from sideline coaching.
